Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Woodlawn Church in Columbia for James Darrel Saucier, 55, of Independence, who passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at his residence. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Bro. Ray Grubbs will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Darrel loved his family tremendously and just missed being a grandfather and being able to give his daughter away to be married. Spending time with his children was very important and everything he did in life revolved around them. He enjoyed watching live sports and outdoor activities including hunting, golf and live music. Darrel was a member of AA and served as a mentor to other members. He took pride in his work ethic. He started at the bottom of his career at the age of 19 and worked his way up to become a regional manager. He will be dearly missed and forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Darrel was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Saucier; mother, Shirley Goens.

He is survived by his children, Danielle Renee' Saucier (Michael Sandoz), Matthew Ryan Saucier (Rachel) and Adam Michael Saucier; brother, Derike Saucier; uncle, John Saucier; aunt, Sue Hancock; uncle, Eddie Goens, who was like a father to him; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Derike Saucier, Roger Dale Stringer, Phillip Hutton, Jr., Edgar Patton, Willis May, and Dustin Hancock.
