Mr. James was a 3 rd generation resident and strong supporter of Marion County who loved his family immensely. Regarded as an extremely intelligent, funny person, he loved a good joke and was known for helping anyone and everyone that sought help. His family's love for travel was only met by his careful planning of the best places to eat.  Compassionate and caring without ever taking credit, he was always dedicated to his family, his church and his work.  A true servant, he attended First Baptist Church of Columbia, he touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Thomas Arny Rhoden; Mother Amy Jean Rimes Rhoden; one Son, Matthew James Rhoden.

He is survived by his Wife of 42 years, Karen Wood Rhoden; one Daughter Courtney Nicole Rhoden Eisworth; Son in Law, William D. Eisworth; two Brothers, Thomas Rhoden (Sharon), Richard Rhoden; one Sister, Rebecca Rhoden Kent (Allen); two Brother in Laws, Leslie Adrian Wood, Alan Harold Wood (Margaret); two Granddaughters, Madeleine Rhoden, Chelsea Greenlee; three Grandsons, Austin Rhoden, Seth D.
