Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for James Herman Murphy, 80, of Petal, who passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at Asbury Hospice House. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Bro. Ronnie Smith will officiate the services. Angela Patterson will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Helen White  Murphy;  Father, James W. Murphy;  Mother, Eleanor  Shows;  two Brothers, John  Murphy and Buddy  Murphy;  three Sisters, Ann O'Quin, Marsha Vanderslice and Cinda Murphy.

He is survived by his Brother, Roger Murphy;  and a host of nieces nephews, and friends..

Pallbearers will be Jason Vinson, William Murphy, Jr., Mike Jarrell, Buster Jarrell, Tanner Jarrell, and Justin McCarty.
