Obituary

James Dale "Jim" Strahin, a man of diverse talents, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He started at a young age working in road construction and later became a foreman and was a skilled building contractor. He was also a church pastor for 30 years. A craftsman at heart, James found joy in woodworking, creating beautiful and lasting pieces. He embraced life with enthusiasm, finding solace and pleasure in fishing. Above all, James cherished his family, holding them close to his heart. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was preceded in death by his Father, James Wallace  Marcellas Strahin;  Mother, Helen Elizabeth Flanagan Strahin;  Sister, Mary  Graff;  Son-In-Law, Michael  McGuffee.

He is survived by his Wife of 56 years, Linda Strahin;  Son, James  Brian Strahin;  Daughter, Sherri  Anne McGuffee;  six Grandchildren, Estin Robert Teter, Bridon James Strahin, Michael  Carter  McGuffee, Christian  Reeves McGuffee, Anna  Louise McGuffee and Brialyn Lynday Strahin;  three Brothers, Richard  Strahin, Robert  Strahin and Gary  Strahin;  two Sisters, Jean Fluharty and Dawn  Ashcraft;  and a host  of Nieces and Nephews.
