James O. Greatsinger, 84, of Sumrall, who passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024

James (Jim) Greatsinger spent his life in various jobs, from truck driving to firefighter to mechanic. He was nicknamed "McGyver" because he was so smart and could do miracles on a vehicle with tin foil and duck tape . He loved reading and learning, going to historical sites and fleamarkets, and enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren to the circus and to the beach. He was tough, but he had such a good heart; he was always willing to help those in need. In his later life, he was quick to show his appreciation for the smallest gestures, often saying "thank you" and "God bless you." He was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and always let them know it! He dearly loved his family and his wife Christine of over 40 years. Memories of him will last forever for those who knew him and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Richard & Isabel Greatsinger; Children, Eric Greatsinger, Cheryle Moynihan; three Brothers, Bill "Buddy" Greatsinger, Tommy Greatsinger and Richard Greatsinger.

He is survived by his Wife of 40 years Christine Greatsinger; Children, Todd Greatsinger, Deborah Greatsinger, Melissa Klavitter, Sean Greatsinger; one Half-Brother, Danny MacDonald; one Half- Sister, Carolyn MacDonald Diaz.
