Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Bunker Hill Baptist Church in Columbia for James William Farmer, 78, of Columbia, who passed away Monday, January 13, 2025. Interment will be at New Bunker Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Kevin Shows will officiate the services. Bro. Caleb Matheny will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Bunker Hill Baptist Church.

Billy, a proud graduate of Bunker Hill High School in 1964, furthered his education at Pearl River Community College, graduating in 1966. He served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force, and upon his return, dedicated himself to a fulfilling career as a truck driver for an impressive 48 years. When not on the road, Billy cherished his free time fishing and relished every moment spent with his beloved family. Billy was a faithful member to Bunker Hill Baptist Church and a lifelong Ole Miss Rebels fan, Billy had unwavering loyalty to his favorite College Team.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Claxton & Virgie Farmer.

He is survived by his Wife of 58 years, Mrs. Elaine Farmer; two Sons, Darren Farmer (Jerri), Farron Farmer (Lisa); two Grandsons, Matthew Farmer and Wade Farmer.

Pallbearers will be Joe Stuckey, Duane Pittman, David Brown, Jimmy Evans, Giles Grice, Lane Thornhill. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Farmer and Wade Farmer.
