Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Irma Jean Broom, 85, of Columbia, who passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her residence. Interment will be at the Broom / Stringer Family Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Denny Patterson will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Percy Bilbo Lee; her Mother, Emma Z. Kennedy Lee; one Brother, Percy Lee; and two Sisters, Hilda Hall, Mary Lou Fortenberry.

She is survived by her Husband, John Broom, of Columbia; two Sons, Jeff Broom (Renee), of Columbia, Tim Broom, of Columbia; six Grandchildren, Jordan Broom (Glori), Ethan Broom, Manton Broom (Elizabeth), Rebekah Bruce (Jie), Nathanael Mote, Bradley Broom; four Great Grandchildren, Haven Broom, Artemis Broom, Minerva Broom, Zander Broom; one Brother-In-Law, Lloyd Broom (Charlsie); one Sister-In-Law, Vera Nell Lee; and a host of Nieces & Nephews;

Pallbearers will be Jordan Broom, Ethan Broom, Manton Broom, Bradley Broom, Todd Fortenberry, and Skipper Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Toney Hall, Kevin King, and Michael Baughman.
