Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Hilda Faye Smith, 86, of Columbia, who passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at her residence. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Bro. Doug Blackwell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Hilda was born in Brookhaven on October 3, 1935. She was a secretary during her working career at a number of different businesses, including Griner Drilling Services, Southern Tire Mart, Maaco Auto Body Shop & Paint, Singley Environmental, and GCI. Affectionately known as "Nanny," her family will always remember her selfless love for other people and her constant desire to be a "do'er" that would not sit still. Hilda enjoyed devoting time to genealogy, and she was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Donald N. Smith; Parents, Robert and Lexie Smith; Grandson, Jamie Breakfield; Brother, Lenox Smith.

She is survived by Daughters, Kim Breakfield (Ted) of Columbia, Deborah Duff of Columbia; Brother, Raymond Smith (Sue) of Jackson; Grandchildren, Shane Smith, Katie Waldrop, Robbie Duff, Jessica Breakfield; Great Grandchildren, Drew Smith, Jack Gillis, Cooper Waldrop, Briggs Waldrop, Charly Kate Waldrop, Caleb Upton, Lexie Duff, and Colton Duff.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lazzarino, Patrick Lazzarino, Reggie Williamson, Jack Gillis, Ross Foxworth, and Clayton Upton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Waldrop, Robbie Duff, Greg Smith, Jeff Smith, and Paul Neal.
