Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Hilda Faye Pounds Davis, 80, of Columbia, who passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Hattiesburg. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Trenidy Davis and Gabe May will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Hilda possessed many talents and gifts. She was a standout point-guard on the Dexter High School ladies basketball team. Many knew her for her down-home southern cooking, which she learned from the best cooks in the Ten Mile Creek community. Some of her best years were spent at Columbia High School, where she served as an office aid and teachers assistant in the 80s and 90s. She attended North Columbia Baptist Church for the majority of her adult life. Hilda loved music, and understood its ability to bring people together. She never turned down an opportunity to sing, whether with friends, family, or strangers. She had a knack for selling, and enjoyed working in her daughter's retail store, as well as hosting garage sales at her home. Her outgoing personality allowed her to connect with many people over the course of her life.

Hilda was preceded in death by her Parents, Roy & Lucy Mae Holmes Pounds; and two Brothers, Hurley Pounds, Hollis Pounds.

She is survived by her Husband of sixty-one years, Larue Davis; one Son, Trenidy Davis (JJ); one Daughter, Tina May (Raymond); five Grandchildren, Gabe May (Ella); Gillian May, Lizzy Davis, Ally Davis, TJ Davis; and one Great Grandchild, Bo McKenzie.
