Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church for Henry Howard Bennett, 100, of Foxworth, who passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Interment will be at Lott Cemetery in Foxworth. Rev. Christian Stubbs and Dr. Jerry Watts will officiate the service.  Rev. Bradley White of FBC Summit will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church.

Mr. Bennett served this great Nation as a World War II veteran. He was a Nose Gunner on a B24 Liberator. Flying over 30 missions behind enemy lines. Mr. Bennett was Highly Decorated receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross along with many other medals. Last year he was Knighted by the Nation of France. He was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served over 55 + years as a Deacon and he also taught Sunday School. He served as a member of American Legion Post #90.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Gay Stephens Bennett; Parents, Pierce & Ollie Bennett; nine Brothers and six Sisters; Great Granddaughter, Emalee Arnett.

He is survived by his Children, Linda Stringer (Wayne), Sue Long (Lee Campbell), Steve Bennett (Carolyn), James "Jimmy" Bennett (Wanda); eleven Grandchildren, nineteen Great Grandchildren and four Great-Great Grandchildren, with a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Pallbearers will be Logan Anthony, Maguire Stringer, Ryan Stringer, Scott Bennett, Samuel Martin, Will Arnett, Caleb Stubbs and Henry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of New Hope Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 90 of Columbia.
