A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia for Helen Grace Pierce Spell-Davis, who passed away peacefully at the age of 91, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.  Bro. Tom Thurman will officiate the service.

Helen was born July 7, 1930, in Columbia, MS, to Estus and Addie Pierce. The first 89 years of her life, Helen lived Columbia. Her remaining years were spent in the loving care of her granddaughter and family in Texas. Having been a doctor's wife and mother to three children, Helen was particularly doting, loving, and supportive. Though her own family unit kept her quite busy, she also kindly tended to the needs of her own mother and mother-in-law. Helen cherished being a mother and homemaker. In her scant spare time, she enjoyed home gardening, participating in the local garden club, and socializing with church members. Helen was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Columbia.

Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Frederick K. Spell; daughter, Melanie Patridge; son, Lee F. Spell; and second husband, Hulon Davis. She is survived by her son, Jim K. Spell; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
