Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at New Union Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia for Glynn Allen Robbins, 63, of Bassfield, who passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital. Interment will be at New Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Darrin Webb will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 and on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 10:00 AM until service time at New Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Glynn was a member of the New Union Community his whole life, and a member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was a long-time employee of Reagan Power and Compression. He was the one you called when something broke, you needed help, or you just needed a friend to talk to. If you had a problem, he could fix it. He had the best laugh, hugs, advice, and sense of humor. He never met a stranger, and to know him was to love him. He loved his family, friends, and all the extra kids and grandkids he had a part in helping raise. He was looking forward to retirement and raising his calves. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reece Elbert and Lucille Robbins; two brothers, Reece Ray Robbins, and John Edd Robbins.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rachel Robbins of Bassfield; son, Tommy Robbins (Kayla) of Bassfield; daughter, Sabrina Nichols (Jason) of Columbia; brothers, Ricky Robbins (Lynn) of Columbia, Charles Robbins (Michelle) of Columbia; sisters, Nita Bazor (Chuck) of Poplarville, Naomi Windham of Bassfield; grandchildren, Gavin Fairburn, Cheyenne Fairburn, Christin Nichols, Emalee Nichols, Jaylin Nichols; brothers-in-law, Victor Haddox (Darlene) of Columbia, Jeff Davis (JoLynn) of Columbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Delbert Wood, Ray Windham, Mike Windham, Bobby Holmes, Larry Peavy, and Alex Brumfield.

Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.hathornfuneralhome.com
