Ben was the most generous, genuine, kindhearted and strong Christian man. He served others and his church in many positions without the need for recognition. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt all game and fish the Pearl River. Ben was a welder by trade and continued to weld even after retirement. When Ben wasn't hunting and fishing, he loved spending time with his "sweety", friends, family and especially the grandkids to their extra-curricular events. Even at the end of his life Ben remained steadfast in his faith and strong for his family until he took his final breath.
He was preceded in death by his Wife of seventeen years, Sherry June McNabb Stringer; his Parents, William "Billy" & Eliza Ophelia Stogner Stringer; seven Brothers, Joseph "JW" Stringer, Alton "Buck" Stringer, Kenneth "Dick" Stringer, Edgar "Gene" Stringer, Franklin "Frank" Stringer, Jerry Stringer, Donald Stringer; and two Sisters, Quida Rogers Helen Wade.
He is survived by his Wife of forty-one years, Peggy Fortenberry Stringer of Foxworth; his Son, Shannon Holmes (Katie), of Memphis; four Daughters, Tammy Robbins (Mike), of Foxworth, Tanna Stringer, of Sumrall, Cheree Sanders (Steven), of Hattiesburg, Jeanie Coward (James), of Hattiesburg; one Sister, Bille Sue Breakfield, of Hattiesburg; eight Grandchildren, Sabrina Garner (Keith), Lindsay Rivero (Alex), Sherri Lankford (Robbie), Bailey Robbins (Hayley), Allie Sanders, Emma Sanders, Daniel Coward, Eli Benjamin Coward; eight Great Grandchildren, Riley Garner, Avery Garner, Kavan Rivero, Paislee Rials, Price Rials, Wylder Rivero, Daniel Robbins, Spencer Robbins; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Family & Friends.
Mr. Stringer will be carried to his final place of rest by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; Daniel Coward, Bailey Robbins, Eli Coward, Bryan Harris, Riley Garner, and James Billingsley. The Jimmy Thomas Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers , the family asks that donations be made to the Renovation Fund at New Hope Baptist Church or to the New Hope Community Christian School.
