Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Society Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Oakvale for Gary Glyn Fitzhugh, 81, of Oak Vale, who passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital. Interment will be at Society Hill Cemetery in Oakvale. Rev. Ralph Sanford and Rev. Paul Young will officiate the services. Chris Turnage will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Society Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Gary worked offshore his entire life, he was an avid farmer while home and he loved working with his cows, bailing hay and bush hogging. Gardener at heart he loved to plant and watch things grow.  Gary was a faithful member of Society Hill Baptist Church where he was a trustee and secretary/treasurer and on the cemetery committee.  Gary Loved his family with his whole heart and coffee time with his friends was second in line.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Sherry Fitzhugh; Father, Sidney Fitzhugh; Mother, Gadys Inez Prine Fitzhugh; Brother, Joe Dunn Fitzhugh; Sister, Diane Williamson.

He is survived by his four Daughters, Ashley Daniels, Ruby Varnado (Ken), Terry Cottle (John) and Monica Lott; 10 Grandchildren; two Brothers, Gerald Fitzhugh (Judy) and Allen Ray Fitzhugh; three Sisters, Frances Wroten, Elaine Morgan, Edith Turnage; 9 Great Grandchildren; And a host of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Colby Daniels, Carson Daniels, Clayton Daniels, Morgan Jones, Austin Varnado, Tyler Varnado, Peyton Havard, and David Morgan
