Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Gaines Eugene Reid, 73, of Columbia, who passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Collins Veterans Home. Interment will be at Darbun Cemetery in Darbun. Elder Yancy Magee will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Richard Murray Reid; Mother, Julia Breland Reid; three Brothers, Richard Reid, Henry Ford Reid and John Wesley Reid; three Sisters, Lorene Pounds, Pearl Anderson and Mary Jane McKamey.

He is survived by his two Sons, Jeremy Reid (Haleigh) and Trent Reid (Felicia); Brother, Lavelle Reid (Sherri); four Grandsons, Hunter Reid, Dalton Reid, Trinity Reid and Porter Coon; Granddaughter, Dawsyn Coon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Reid, Trinity Reid, Porter Coon, Triston Stewart, Matthew Stewart, and Mark Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Reid, Steve Fortenberry, and Michael Stewart.
