Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Frances Geneva Holmes, 87, of Columbia, who passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at The Grove. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Dr. Randy Turner and Bro. Dudley Williamson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Mrs. Geneva was the perfect example of selflessness and generosity. She was a devoted wife and mother, amazing cook, and a better friend. Her greatest pride was her children, grand-children, and great grand-children. Geneva was dearly loved by those that knew her and always provided a helping hand to those around her.

Holmes was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Holmes; parents, Lucious and Ida McCain; son, Danny Stringer; daughters, Faye Holmes Chance and Kaye Holmes McDaniel; brothers, Arnold McCain and Edward McCain; and one sister, Molly White.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane McNabb (Larry) of Foxworth; sons, Robert Holmes (Gina) of Columbia, Joey Holmes (Rosie) of Columbia; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chad McNabb, Ryan McNabb, Chance McNabb, Daniel Holmes, Wesley Holmes, and Bradley McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Chance and Myles McNabb.
