Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Faye Martin. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Tom Thurman will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Faye Brumfield Martin, age 90, born September 2, 1933, passed peacefully on February 6, 2024, at her home in Arab, AL. She had lived a long, wonderful life in Columbia, MS, with her husband Alton. After his death in 2015, Faye moved to Arab, AL.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Columbia, MS. Faye enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and adored her family, for whom she recently said she has prayed for faithfully throughout the years. She and her husband, Alton, received "Yard of the Month" in 2009.

She is survived by a son, Paul Martin (Marcia) of Kokomo, MS, and two daughters Lisa Cody (Clayton) of Meridian, MS, and Lori Barnett (Billy) of Arab, AL; 9 grandchildren: Erica Pickard, Timothy Martin, Tiffany Hicks, Tina Martin, Amanda Bounds, Tyler Martin, Jennifer Hughes, Ryan Barnett and Lauren Barnett and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister Mickey Jenkins (James) of Byram, MS, a sister-in-law Mary Brumfield of Moss Point, MS; special nephew and niece Tom Temple (Dot) of St. Francisville, LA, Ruth Pearson of Columbia, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Martin; her parents Sidney and Ina Brumfield; sisters, Ruth Beard, and Winnie Parker and brothers John Brumfield, Joseph Brumfield, and Truly Brumfield.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Barnett, Dalton Hicks, Tyler Hughes, Timothy Martin, Tyler Martin, and Billy Pearson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Columbia MS.
