Evon was a woman whose life was a testament to love. For over 25 years, she was a beloved fixture at West Marion Primary School and West Marion High School, serving as the Cafeteria Manager and bringing joy to the children who passed through her line daily. Evon's love extended beyond the school halls and into her own home, which was a welcoming sanctuary for all. She was an amazing cook who lovingly ensured her family and friends were always well-fed, and her talent for cultivating a beautiful yard full of flowers was a source of pride and beauty. Evon's profoundly positive and encouraging nature meant that to know her was truly to love her, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to be a part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her Husband of fifty-four years, Claude Earl Hammonds; her Parents, Berlie & Lucy McKenzie Bedwell; her Brother, Billy Hugh Bedwell; and her Sister, Dorothy Helen Bedwell.
She is survived by her three Sons, Danny Hammonds (Brenda), of Sandy Hook, Randy Hammonds (Wendy), of Foxworth, Chad Hammonds (Therissa), of Sandy Hook; one Brother, Casey Bedwell (Ruby), of Sandy Hook; one Sister, Rose Bedwell (Charles), of Foxworth; two Grandchildren, April Stringer (Eli), of Foxworth, Anna Marie Hammonds, of Foxworth; three Great Grandchildren, Gracie Stringer, Jaxsen Stringer, JuLeigh Stringer, all of Foxworth; and a number of Nieces & Nephews.
Mrs. Hammonds will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; they include: James Turner, Clay Hatfield, Mark Bedwell, Tracey Bedwell, Lee Pounds, and Woody Pounds. Honorary pallbearers will be Eli Stringer, Dewey Lott, Mike McKenzie, and Jason McKenzie.
