Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Edward "Ed" Broom, 90, of Columbia, who passed away Monday, February 10, 2025. Interment will be at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Darel Daniels will officiate the services. Rori Watts and Randy Lowery will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Ed was a longtime resident of Marion County and a dedicated member of Improve Baptist Church in Columbia. Ed served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force. He was a valued employee of Watts Brothers Tractor & Implement in Columbia for many years, contributing to the community through his work. Ed will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Kathy Ann Raybourn; and his Parents, Van & Ida Lott Broom.

He is survived by his Wife of forty-seven years, Dimple Calhoun Broom, of Columbia; his Step-Daughter, Marcia Lowery (Randy), of Sumrall;  one Brother, James Broom, of Columbia; three Grandchildren, Jennifer Raybourn Mobley (Bradley), Rori Watts (Morris), Morris Lowery (Jessica); and four Great Grandchildren.
