August 24, 1927 – July 8, 2025
Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Monday, July 14, 2025 at First United Methodist Church of Columbia for Edna Frances Martin Ginn, 97, who passed away July 8th at her residence in Dallas, TX. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Austin Hoyle will officiate the service. Visitation will be Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hathorn Funeral Home.
A military wife, Edna, known by all as "Nana", lived throughout the United States and Germany, but was a long standing resident of Columbia for over 50 years. She was a member of the Junior Auxiliary, the Cosmopolitan Club & a past president of the As You LIke It club. A devoted & dedicated member of First United Methodist Church, she served as a financial secretary, as president of the United Methodist Women and was a member of the Women's Circle & the Dantin-Ford Sunday School Class.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Murl Ginn, her son, Thomas Michael Ginn, brother, Dr. Charles Martin and parents, James Henry & Elizabeth White Martin.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Mazzanti (Mark), Grandchildren, Michael Mazzanti (Rachel), Miles Ginn (Margaux), Drew Mazzanti (Emily), Elizabeth Seyler (Jason) & Stephen Mazzanti (Dyllan), her brother David H. Martin & was blessed with 7 Great Grandchildren; Elle Mazzanti, Hallie Ginn, Mac Ginn, Mark Mazzanti II, Charlee Mazzanti, Thomas Mazzanti & Olivia Mazzanti, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Michael Mazzanti, Miles Ginn, Drew Mazzanti, Stephen Mazzanti & her nephews, Chuck Martin & Joel Martin.
The family requested any donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Columbia, 411 Church St. Columbia, MS
