Doyle Sauls was born the oldest of five children. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married his high school sweetheart, Lyndora Smith Sauls, and loved her his entire life. He was known to many as "Poppa Doyle" and was truly everything a Poppa should be. To him, family always came first, and he would do anything for them.
He was a hardworking man who worked as a farmer and as a supervisor at Exxon Mobil for 30 years. After retirement, he was a proud member of the Exxon Mobil Annuitant Club of South Mississippi.
Sauls was generous with his love, advice, time, resources, and faith. He was a member of Magee's Creek Baptist Church. He was a humble, genuine person who loved the Lord, his family, gospel music, and eating catfish. Despite living with chronic pain, he tried to not let it get him down.
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lyndora Smith Sauls; father, Johnie Nicodemus Sauls; mother, Mary "Maude" Andrews Sauls; brothers, J.N. Sauls and Bobby Sauls.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Jan Sauls of Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Julie & Edwin Noland of Denham Springs, LA; great-grandson, Emmett Remington Noland; brother, Kenny Sauls; sister and brother-in-law, Gail & Nicky Cothern; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Edwin R. Noland, III, Shane Sauls, Chad Sauls, Philip Cothern, Mike Evans, and Michael Brister.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Emmett Noland and The Exxon Mobil Annuitant Club of South Mississippi
