Dora Mae Seymour Bond, age 101, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at The Grove Nursing Home, Columbia, MS, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.


Dora was the oldest of four children and was blessed with a long and meaningful life centered around faith, family, and service to others. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Thomas Esco Bond, as well as her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her brother, Norwood Seymour.


She leaves behind four loving children: Thomas Joseph Bond (Patty), Brenda Kaye Taranto, Rebecca Susan Bradshaw (Jack), and Bettye Karen Roth.


Dora’s legacy continues through her 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride.


Throughout her life, Dora worked as a bookkeeper and later as a receptionist/secretary at Jefferson Davis Community College. She was also a gifted musician who faithfully played the organ and piano at various churches attended by her family through the years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Columbia, Mississippi.


Dora enjoyed cooking, sewing, and tending to her beautiful flower garden. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.


Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Little Creek Baptist Church, 2689 Wire Road East Perkinston, Mississippi 39573. Burial will follow at Little Creek Church Cemetery. Officiating minister will be Bret Frazier.


Pallbearers will be Michael Bradshaw, James Bond, Daniel Taranto, Chris Bond, John Taranto, Zack Roth.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Creek Baptist Church.


The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Orchard Park Independent Living and The Grove Nursing Home for their excellent and loving care.
