The family is asking guests to wear colorful clothing to honor Mrs. Donna. She loved life and all the colors that came with it.
Mrs. Donna lived a life of extraordinary service and unconditional love, dedicated to her family, faith, and community. She was a committed volunteer, guiding young lives as a Girl Scout leader and giving 30 plus years to the Tri-Community Fire Department. Her greatest passion and ministry was storytelling, using her voice to share light and hope. Deeply active in her church, Donna was a fervent prayer warrior who lovingly made and shared prayer blankets. Her kindness extended to everyone; she truly loved people for who they were and even affectionately called her in-laws her "in-loves." She embraced a large, self-made family, welcoming many into her life as her "extra kids and grandkids," all of whom will miss her profoundly.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Lyman Fite; Father, John Douglas Phelps; Mother, Anne Bettis Phelps; two Brothers, Doug Phelps of Nashville, TN and John Phelps; Brother-In-Law, Larry Fite.
She is survived by her three Sons, Chris Fite (Jessie) of New Orleans, LA, Jim Fite (Rachel) of New Orleans, LA and Michael Fite (Kenlie) of New Orleans, LA; Daughter, Anna Fite Pounds (Eddie) of Columbia, MS; three Sisters, Sonya Fite of Foxworth, MS and Diann Meador of Hawesville, KY, and Peggy Phelps of Nashville, TN; five Grandchildren, Xander Sharp of New Orleans, LA, Mia Sharp of New Orleans, LA, Gabriel Pounds of Columbia, MS, Katherine Pounds of Columbia, MS and Lakota Sharp of New Orleans, LA; two Brothers-In-Law, David Fite (Bertel) of Shreveport, LA, Mark Fite of Columbia, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be members of the Tri-Community Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, love offerings can be made to The Church on Main @ thechurchonmain.org or the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department @ TCVFD.net
