Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 29, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Columbia for Dr. Donald Wayne Sturdivant, 89, of Columbia, who passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at his residence. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, with Pastor Heather Hensarling officiating. The Singing Santas (Kent Lucas, Reuben McDowell, and Chris Turnage) will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Thompson Sturdivant; mother, Laura Gertrude Nash Sturdivant.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Waits Sturdivant of Columbia, MS; Son, John Lacy Sturdivant (Amy); two daughters, Tara LeWynn Sturdivant and Laurie Harvey (John); six grandchildren, Hannah Throgmorton (Tyler), Mary Claire Harvey, Madeline Sturdivant, Emily Sturdivant, Hollen Sturdivant and Lila Melson; two brothers, Adrian Sturdivant (Ann) and Bill Sturdivant (Mary Clay).

Pallbearers will be Lacy Sturdivant, Laurie Harvey, Edward Hough, Wendell Holland, Steven Clement, Leonard Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Tara LeWynn, Sturdivant, Hannah Throgmorton, Mary Claire Harvey, Madeline Sturdivant, Emily Sturdivant, Hollen Sturdivant, and Lila Melson.
