Graveside services will be held on Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Darbun Community Cemetery in Kokomo for Dewey Lee Blansett Jr., 70 of Kokomo, who passed away Friday, January 14, 2022.  Rev. A.D. Gammill will officiate the graveside service. Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Mr. Blansett took great pride and joy in his family and grandchildren who he loved immensely. He enjoyed being outdoors playing golf and fishing. One of his favorite hobbies included sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and watching birds and squirrels. Mr. Blansett served our country faithfully over seas in South East Asia. He served Marion County as the Veterans Service Officer for nine years. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Blansett was preceded in death by his Father; D.L. Blansett Sr.; Mother, Bonnie Walters; two Sisters, Glendon Street, Hazel Bullock; one Brother, Robert Blansett.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eula Blansett; two Sons, Dewey Alan Blansett Sr. (Michelle), Glen Blansett (Anna); one Sister, Billie Atwood; two Brothers, Charles Holly (Geri), Ronnie Blansett Sr.; four Grandsons, Alan Blansett (Caitlin), Hunter Blansett, Blake Scott and Logan Blansett; three Granddaughters, Hannah Blansett, Katy Blansett, Gracy Blansett; one Great Grandson, Lincoln Blansett, and a number of Nieces and Nephews and family.

Pallbearers will be Horatio Rankin American Legion Post 90.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dewey Alan Blansett Sr, Glen Blansett, Dewey Alan Blansett Jr., Hunter Blansett, Blake Scott, Logan Blansett and Lincoln Blansett.
