Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Enon Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia for Deborah Gail Peavy, 67, of Columbia, who passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at her residence. Interment will be at New Enon Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bros. Bill Morris, Doyle Ball, and Richard Magee will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 and from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021 all at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Deborah was born in Marion County, Mississippi to Lonnie and Dorothy Thompson and was a life long resident of Lamar County, Mississippi. She was a member of Enon Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and served as the Chairperson of Family Life through the Nation Guard. She was a homemaker and a healthcare provider to some in the community. As a homemaker, she loved to cook, work in the garden, and watch the humming birds. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law to her family, whom she loved dearly. She also enjoyed going to church, being active in the community and traveling with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Lonnie & Dorothy Middleton Thompson; two Sisters, Renee Edens, Elaine Arnold; and one Nephew, Ivan Bullock.
Deborah is survived by her Husband of 50 years, Darrell Peavy; three Sons, Mark Peavy (Cheryl), Kyle Peavy (Wendy), Josh Peavy (Shelly); four Grandsons, Tanner Peavy (Ashlyn), Brennan Peavy (MacKenzie), Landon Peavy, John Peavy; one Sister, Louise Stringer (Irvin); one Aunt, Eula Faye Cook (Joe); and a number of Nieces, Nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Roger Stringer, Eric Stringer, Ryan Stringer, Cole Robbins, Drew Peavy, Brandon Livingston, Glen Dale, and Josh Boone. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clinton Livingston, Patrick Peavy, Dustin Labue, Joe Bullock, Ronnie Tolar, Mike Riley, Jimmy Townsend, Charles Smith, and Jackie Broom.
