A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sumrall for David Dunham, 56, of Sumrall, who passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at his residence. Bros. Robert Arinder & Robert Cole will officiate the service.
David was born on August 20, 1964 in Cicero, New York, where he grew up until later in childhood moving to Buras, Louisiana. He graduated from Belhaven College, where he played college baseball, and he later received a Master's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. David recently retired as a Special Needs teacher from Petal High School. He was an avid sports fan and loved the New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers, Atlanta Braves, & most of all, his son's Sumrall Bobcat football team. David was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Buras, Louisiana.
He is survived by Wife of 26 years, Shirley Gail Smith Dunham, of Sumrall; one Son, Garet Micah Dunham, of Sumrall; his Mother, Doris Dunham, of Mexico, New York; one Brother, Dennis Dunham (Connie), of Zephyrhills, Florida; one Sister, Donna Firrello (Albert); Father-in-law, Levi Smith, of Sumrall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Long, Murry Holloway, Tommy Zeegers, Jeff Ray, Chuck Freeman, Ricky McCurdy, Stevie Shackelford, Monty Fontenot, Jason Conner, Paul Warren, and T.J. Jones.
He will also be greatly missed and remembered by countless childhood friends and students. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of them for their thoughts, prayers, and kindness during this time.
