A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Columbia for Danny Kent Pittman, 59, of Columbia, who passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at Asbury Hospice House. Interment will be at Cedar Grove in Columbia. Pastor Brian Stewart will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Danny Pittman was a man whose selfless nature and generous spirit touched countless lives, always placing everything and everyone before himself. A mechanic by trade, he possessed an innate knack for fixing things, a skill that he often used to help others. His unwavering love for his family and friends was the core of his life. Danny was known for his loud demeanor, but when his grandchildren were around, he would transform into a hilarious and funny presence, ensuring their days were filled with laughter. His skills and unwavering kindness left a lasting mark on his community.
He was preceded in death by his first Wife, Renee Polk Pittman; Son, David Klay Pittman; Father, Curtis Kenneth Pittman; Mother, Mae Delores Fortenberry Pittman.
He is survived by his Wife, Angela Nelson Pittman of Columbia, MS; three Sons, Dusty Pittman (Karen), Derek Pittman (Nikki) and Matthew Pittman (Courtney) all of Columbia; Step-Son, Chase Slocum (Tiffany)of Columbia; Sister, Laurie Dement; thirteen Grandchildren, Hallie Pittman, Kady Pittman, Korlie Pittman, Hadley Russell, Harrison Russell, Abel Pittman, Goldie Pittman, Weston Slocum, Grayson Slocum, Burke Slocum, Asher Pittman, Bella Rowell, Bennett Slocum (arriving in February).
Danny will be carried to his final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers; they include Dusty Pittman, Derek Pittman, Matthew Pittman, Chase Slocum, Luke Stewart, Jerry Broom, Sam Smith.
