Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 05, 2023, at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Chester Lee Douglas, 89, of Columbia, who passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Marion General Hospital. Interment will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Pastor Jerron Carney will officiate the services. Gene Laton will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Hathorn Funeral Home, and from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday, August 5.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Martha Grice Douglas; father, Vernon Douglas; mother, Maudie Guice Douglas.

He is survived by his three sons, David Douglas (Janice), Doug Douglas (Jennifer) and Billy Douglas; three daughters, Shelia Breakfield (Ricky), Martha Schexnider (Jerry) and Lisa White (Robby); twelve grandchildren, Robby Breakfield, Wes Berry, Alecia Breakfield, Wade Berry (Megan), Windy Nash (Benny), Grant Douglas, Will Berry (Jodi), Heather Waters (Josh), Garrett Douglas (Ashley), Isaac White (Erica), Zachary White (MacKenzie) and Clint Douglas (Ashley); twenty-seven great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Robby Breakfield, Wes Berry, Wade Berry, Will Berry, Grant Douglas, Isaac White, Zachary White, Garrett Douglas, and Clint Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Nash, Josh Waters, great grandsons; Ethan Berry, Nathan Berry, Jake Berry, Wes Berry, Samuel Breakfield, Oliver White, Noah White, Lincoln Waters, Harrison Waters, John Henry Douglas, Waylon Douglas, and Walker Douglas.
