Charline Agnes
Forbes

Foxworth Cemetery
Starts at 1:00 pm (Central time)
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Foxworth Cemetery in Foxworth for Charline Agnes Forbes, 91 of Foxworth, who passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026. Dr. Rick Clark will officiate the service. Lucas Stringer will provide special music.
Charline was a woman of remarkable work ethic. For nearly five decades, she shared a life of partnership and entrepreneurship with her beloved husband, Doyle, as they successfully owned and operated several local businesses, including Forbes' Taxi Service and the Dixie Gas Station on High School Avenue. Charline’s dedication to her work continued well into her later years. She finally retired from Walmart at the age of 83, concluding a twenty-year tenure as a salesclerk, where she was a familiar and friendly face to many.
Beyond her professional life, Charline found her greatest peace outdoors. She was often found tending to her yard, where she took immense pride in cultivating her beautiful flowers. Her compassion extended to all living things, and she was well-known as a dedicated pet enthusiast and a true animal lover. Charline leaves behind a legacy of hard work, a green thumb, and a kind heart that will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Doyle Forbes; her Parents; Kara & Cecilia Godwin Boyd; one Sister, Theresa Honeycutt; one Grandchildren, Trent Ramshur; and one Son-in-law, Garry Slocum.
She is survived by two Daughters, Deborah Slocum, of Foxworth, Patricia Ramshur (Kary), of Columbia; three Grandchildren, Brett Slocum (Nicole), of Foxworth, Chad Ramshur (Emily), of Columbia, Tammy Herrington (Alan), of Sandy Hook; and a host of Great Grandchildren & Great Great Grandchildren.
Mrs. Forbes will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; Codie Slocum, Evan Barber, Tyler Ramshur, Bryce Ramshur, Chad Ramshur, and Trace Ramshur.
Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.hathornfuneralhome.com.
