Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Thirty-Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Hattiesburg for Charlette Newton, 79, of Hattiesburg, who passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 at Forrest General Hospital. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi. Dr. Kevin Shearer will officiate the services.

The Newton family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:00 pm up until the hour of service at 2:00 pm at Thirty-Eighty Avenue Baptist Church.

Charlette was a woman of many talents and a loving heart. Her voice filled rooms with joy as she loved to sing, and her compassionate spirit extended to all creatures, great and small. A skilled cake decorator, she brought sweetness to countless celebrations, and her creative flair shone through in the beautiful crowns and tiaras she crafted. She found solace and beauty in her garden, nurturing life and color. Above all, Charlette cherished her family. Her love for them was a constant and unwavering presence in her life.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Gary Newton; her Parents, Charles Robert & Ethel Webb Ward.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her Son, James Darbonne; her Daughter, Christina Aultman; three Grandchildren, Aidan Aultman, Luke Aultman, Robert Darbonne; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.

Mrs. Newton will be carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers; they include Aidan Aultman, Luke Aultman, Dean Bowman, and Burl Sumlin.
