Charles was a man whose life was a testament to his great faith and dedication to his community. The son of a preacher, Charles possessed a profound knowledge of the Bible, which guided him throughout his life. After graduating college, he embarked on a successful career in the oil field and lumber industries, beginning his professional life at Baroid and later working for Stallman Lumber Company in Natchez. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate Mississippi Mud Oil Field Drilling Company and Williams Mud Services, where he also served as a consulting engineer. Charles was a tireless servant to the Morgantown community, notably serving as the head of the Water Association and actively participating on the Morgantown Cemetery Committee. His commitment to the Morgantown Church of God was unwavering; he was one of the two living stewards, a dedicated deacon, and a beloved, longtime Sunday School teacher. He leaves behind a legacy defined by service, entrepreneurship, and deeply held spiritual convictions.
He was preceded in death by his Wife of seventy years, Voncel Morgan Williams; his Father, Rev. G.G. Williams; his Mother, Mamie Parker Williams; his five Brothers, Flavous Williams, Davis Williams, Royce Williams, Howard Williams, Darius Williams; and his Sister, June Clark.
He is survived by his two Sons, Don Williams (Denise), of Laurel, Daphnis Van Williams, of Morgantown; one Sister, Maxine Edwards, of Texas; three Grandchildren, Jeffrey Williams, Jeremy Williams (Jessica), Alecia Berry; eight Great Grandchildren; and numerous Nieces & Nephews.
Mr. Williams will be carried to his final place of rest by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; they include: Randy Bracey, Ryan Bracey, Krae Morgan, James Bo Williams, Tanner Williams, Don Williams, and Jeremy Williams.
