A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Spring Cottage Cemetery for Cassell "Cassie" Bass Tullos, 78, of Columbia, who passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020. Rev. Dennis Atwood & Dr. Hiram Campbell will officiate.
As a longtime resident of Columbia, Cassie attended and graduated from Hub High School. He served our nation faithfully in the United States Navy from 1962-1966. Cassie worked for Texaco / Chevron in the oil field industry for over 30 years. Mr. Tullos enjoyed raising cattle and reading books about history and archeology. He was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Spring Cottage Baptist Church. Cassie was well known throughout the community for his good humor and courteous nature. He entertained family and friends with thoughtful stories and witty anecdotes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Mr. Tullos was preceded in death by his Father, Worth Tullos; his Mother, Sarah "Sadie" Tullos; one Brother, Ronald Mack Tullos; two Sisters, Jane Kloman, Rosa Amberson.
He is survived by his Wife of fifty-two years, Amy Tullos, of Columbia; three Daughters, Ann Atwood (Dennis), of Mount Olive, North Carolina, Karen Whitten (Daniel), of Greenville, South Carolina, Suzanne Chatelain (Ryan), of Johnson City, Tennessee; one Son, Robert Cassell Tullos (Liz), of Columbia; ten Grandchildren, Dylan Atwood, Cole Atwood, Noah Atwood, Cassie Blythe Whitten, Alex Whitten, Blaze Tullos, Ethan Chatelain, Sean Chatelain, Angel Chatelain, Katie Brewer; three Great Grandchildren; four Brothers, Olouse Tullos, John Tullos, Rex Tullos, Tim Tullos; two Sisters, Gayle Yager, Sarah Hutto; and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all the nurses and caregivers at Forrest General Home Health and Hospice for ministering to Cassie during these final days. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made in Memory of Cassie to Gideons International or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
