Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Oakvale Baptist Church in Oakvale for Carroll Lafayette Turnage, 82, of Oak Vale, who passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his residence. Interment will be at Oakvale Baptist Church Cemetery. Bros. Mike Grenn and Charles Rose will officiate, and Bro. Chris Turnage will provide music. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Oakvale Baptist Church.

Carroll was a devoted Christian most of his life. His greatest passion was his missions in Jolo, West Virginia. For several years, he was a volunteer song director at Oakvale Baptist Church and loved singing specials. The church was also blessed by his contributions as Sunday School Director and Teacher for several years. He loved his deer processing and used his business to share his faith, always taking time to talk with his customers about life and their walk with the Lord.

Mr. Turnage was preceded in death by his Father, George "Curtis" Turnage, Sr.; his Mother, Melinda Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smith Turnage Bryant; four Brothers, George C. Turnage, Jr., Gerald Turnage, Larry Turnage, Thomas M. Turnage; and four Sisters, Lanelle Graham, Irene Stamps, Dorothy Reynolds, Louise Smith. He is survived by his Wife of sixty-two years, Edith Sharon Fitzhugh Turnage; two Brothers, Dewey L. Turnage (Terrie), Wayne Turnage (Kathy); and a number of Nieces, Nephews, and other family members.

Pallbearers will Gary Fitzhugh, Gary Hill, Dan Morgan, David Morgan, Brad Turnage, Bruce Turnage, Jonathan Turnage, and Pat Turnage.
