Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Good Hope Baptist Church in Columbia for Burton Ray Broome, 85, of Sumrall, who passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital. Interment will be at Good Hope Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Johnny Williams and Bro. Justin Cameron will officiate the services. Ann Broom, Arvin Broom, Justin Cameron, and Felicia Cameron will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Good Hope Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his Son, Tim Broome; Father, Buel Broome; Mother, Virgie Arnold Broome; Step-Mother, Sarah Broome, Sister, Juanita Hudson (Henry Tom).

He is survived by his Wife of 66 years, Judith Goar Broome of Sumrall, MS; two Daughters, Mechelle Ramshur (Darnell) and Leigh Denham (Danny); six Grandchildren, Magan Evans (Jeff), Blake Broome, Mandi Stringer (Mitch), Brandon Denham (Toby), Kristian Broome and Justin Denham (Jolie); Sister, Wanda Hudson (Marlton);  nine Great Grand Children; A host of nephews and nieces;  Daughter-In-Law, Beth Broome.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Denham, Justin Denham, Mitch Stringer, David Smith, Randy Helton, Carlton Brome, and Arvin Broom. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McLaurin, Garrett Denham, and Noah Denham.
