Bonnie Odette Morris Williamson passed from this world to her heavenly home on August 1, 2026. She was born September 9, 1941, the eldest child of John Laree and Jessie Mel Stringer Morris
Bonnie met Darryl while she was in high school, and they married a few months after Bonnie’s 18th birthday. They were married for over 62 years until Darryl’s death in 2021.
In 1974, Magnolia Community Services became an extended part of the family for their support in meeting Eric’s special needs. Bonnie often commented how she felt in awe of their work.
Those who knew Bonnie knew her faith and her letter writing. She was a devout Christian and a student of the Bible (even owning Agape Bookstore, a Christian bookstore in River Ridge, LA), and she formed close friendships through her local churches. Three churches played a special role in Bonnie’s Christian faith: Improve Baptist, Columbia, MS; Riverside Church, River Ridge, LA; and First Baptist, Chalmette, LA.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Darryl Williamson the love of her life; her Parents; John Laree and Jessie Mell Stringer Morris; one Brother, Ned Morris; one Sister, Violet Taylor.
She is survived by four Sons, Steve Williamson, of Violet, LA; Eric Williamson, of Jefferson, La; John Williamson of Violet, LA; and Russ Williamson, of San Francisco, CA; one Daughter, LoriLea Craft (James), of River Ridge, LA; four Grandchildren, Katie Hancock (John), Taylor Rose Williamson, Rebecca Kuntz and Elizabeth Kuntz; one Great Grandchild, Victoria Hancock; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to one of the churches in Bonnie’s life, or to Magnolia Community Services, 100 Central Ave, Jefferson LA 70121.
Also, inspired by Bonnie’s love of letter writing, you are encouraged to send a letter in the mail to someone you love, appreciate, or miss
