A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Old Bunker Hill Cemetery in Columbia for Billie Rogers Cooper, 88, of Columbia, who passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Interment will be at Old Bunker Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Bro. Tommy Stogner will officiate the services.
Billie lived a life defined by unwavering devotion and a deep-seated dedication to everyone she held dear. For over 40 years, she poured her heart into the classroom, sharing the gift of literacy with countless young children and leaving an indelible mark on her community as an educator. Her faith was her cornerstone, found both in the pews of North Columbia Baptist Church and in the quiet beauty of the world she loved to explore. Whether she was traveling to new places, meticulously working on arts and crafts, or finding peace in a morning of bird watching, Billie embraced life with a gentle curiosity. Above all, her family and friends were her greatest treasure; she was the glue that held her loved ones together, finding her truest joy in the simple act of spending time with those she loved. Her legacy of patience, faith, and love will continue to bloom in the hearts of her students and family alike.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Pete and Pollye Rogers; Sister, Dorothy Hasson; Grandson, Ryan Cooper.
She is survived by her Husband, Billy Joe Cooper; Son, Billy Paul Cooper (Brenda); Daughter, Peggy Williams; Grandchildren, Courtney Holland (Chad), Kelsey Branch (Cole); Dana Yawn, Kory Yawn; twelve Great Grandchildren.
Mrs. Billie will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; Chad Holland, Cole Branch, Levi Cooper and Riley Bond. Honorary Pallbearers will be Weston Cooper, Cooper Holland, Beau Branch, and Baker Branch.
