Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at New Union Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia for Betty Parker, 82, of Columbia, who passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 at Song Health and Rehab. Interment will be at Gates Road Cemetery. Bro. Darrin Webb and Bro. Steve Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at New Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Betty was a lifelong member of Gates Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Parker; parents, Travis and Mamie Rutland; sister, Odell Sanford; brothers, Ozzie Rutland, Norman Rutland, Cordell Rutland; and one grandson, Jeremy Riels.

She is survived by her daughters, Carla Douglas (Sylvester) of Columbia, Michelle McNeese (Sebastian) of Bassfield; son, Lane Parker of Columbia; sister, Polly Russell (Wayne) of Horn Lake; five grandchildren, Audria Bishop (Justin), Travis Culpepper (Tiara), Cheyenne Parker, Sierra Riels, Colton Parker, Case Parker; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Colton Parker, Case Parker, Travis Culpepper, Justin Bishop, Howard Rutland, Nelson Rutland, and Jubel Rutland.
