A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Betty Cooper Hightower, 75, originally of Columbia, who passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Hospice Compassus in Irondale, Alabama. Bro. Brian Stewart will officiate the service.

Betty was born and raised in Columbia. While she lived in many places around the southeast, she truly loved Ocean Springs. During her working years, Betty spent time in finance and the retail industry. She was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed college football, but she particularly loved cheering for the Atlanta Braves. She also adored her pets. Betty was of the Baptist faith and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Mitchell Cooper; her Mother, Mamie Wilkes; her Husband, Lynn Hightower; her Daughter, Tammy Lynn Coker; her Children's Father, Ford Coker; two Brothers, Gary Cooper, Kenneth Cooper; and one Granddaughter, Lindsey Nicole Coker.

Betty is survived by her Son, Chris Coker; three Grandchildren, Dylan Coker, Shane Coker, Cameron Coker; and one Great-grandchild, Skylynn Coker.
