Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Columbia for Barbara Gail Dement, 77, of Lumberton, who passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024 at her residence. Interment will be at Old Brushy Creek Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Don Jacobs and Bro. Junior Douglas will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Clyde Polk; Mother, Elizabeth King Polk; six Brothers, James Lavon Polk, Clyde Polk, Jr., James K. Polk (Linda Nell), Dusty Polk, Jerry Wayne Polk and Joe Polk; three Sisters, Joann Polk, Clara Comeaux (Gary) and Shirley Jean Arinder.

She is survived by her Spouse of 62 years, Noah R. Dement, Sr. of Lumberton, MS; two Sons, Noah Dement, Jr. (Lynette) and Waynie Dement; two Daughters, Michelle Thomas (David) and Lori Peavy; 11 Grandchildren; two Brothers, Jessie Warren Polk, Charles (Tony) Polk; 5 Great Grandchildren; A Host of Nephews and Nieces; Sister-In-Law, Maria Polk.

Pallbearers will be Ransome Dement, Dwayne Dement, Stevie Dement, Derek Dement, Tim Soloman, and Colton Herrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Reece Burroughs, Josh Dement, C.J. Burroughs, and Jason Dement.
