Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Alvie Dunaway, Jr., 86 of Sumrall, who passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at his residence. Interment will be at Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Sumrall. Bro. Richard Magee and Bro. George Moore will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie Dunaway, Sr. and Ella Dunaway; three brothers; and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dunaway of Sumrall; sons, Tony Dunaway of Hattiesburg, Ted Dunaway (Sabrina) of Sumrall, and Terry Dunaway (Brenda) of Sumrall; four grandchildren, Jeremy Dunaway (Megan) of Sumrall, Jamie Dunaway Fleming (Michael) of Hattiesburg, Scarlett Dunaway of Sumrall, and Samuel Dunaway of Sumrall; one great grandchild, Easton Dunaway of Sumrall; and a host of nieces and nephews.
